Yale University is launching a new course titled “Beyonce Makes History: Black Radical Tradition History, Culture, Theory, & Politics Through Music” for the upcoming spring semester.  The class will use Beyoncé's work as a lens to explore Black intellectual thought and activism. Led by scholar Daphne Brooks, the course will analyze Beyoncé's albums, performance politics, and concert films, delving into Black feminist theory, philosophy, and anthropology. This course joins a trend of universities offering classes on the cultural impact of celebrities like Beyoncé, Taylor Swift, and Lady Gaga, with other institutions such as Rutgers University and Cornell University also featuring Beyoncé-themed courses.
