The high school football season continues for four Capital Region teams.

Schuylerville won in a rain-soaked game with the Gouverneur Wildcats, 45-6, at Shenendehowa High School in Clifton Park.  Landen Cumm ran for 3 total touchdowns as the senior running back dashed for over 100 yards for the Black Horses, and Ollie Bolduc ran for two more touchdowns and passed for another.

Gouverneur was outscored 31-0 in the second quarter, and scored their lone touchdown with 90 seconds left to play in the fourth quarter.

Schuylerville advances to face Section 1's Valhalla at Noon, Saturday, at the Middletown High School in Orange County.

Glens Falls traveled up north to Potsdam and scored early to set the tempo against Ogdensburg Free Academy.  Brody Holcomb passes for 2 touchdowns for the Black Bears.  Glens Falls had the 34-6 advantage at the half, and added two more touchdowns in the third quarter to defeat Ogdensburg 49-20.  The Black Bears head to Middletown High School to face Port Jervis from Section 9.

Port Jervis, who is a 15 minute drive from Middletown, defeated Section 1's Ardsley 28-0.

Kick is scheduled for Saturday, 3pm.

Greenwich also had to endure a trip up north, heading up to Beekmantown to face the Moriah Vikings of Section 7.  It was all Greenwich, who shut out Moriah 34-0 on a cold, blustery Saturday in the Champlain Valley.

Greenwich advances to face Section 9's Burke Catholic.  Burke Catholic made state history on a snowy Friday at Lakeland High School by beating Tuckahoe 3-0, making the game the lowest scoring game in NYSPHSAA Tournament History.

And Christian Brothers Academy's Thomas Toher rushes for two touchdowns and passes for another on a broken play as the Brothers pushed past the North Rockland Raiders on Saturday at Lansingburgh High School.  Toher's 12 and 1 yard runs came in the 2nd Quarter, and then connected with Aiden Good for the third touchdown in a play that started with a fumble that bounced on the turf back into Toher's hand, then flushed to the left side where he lobbed the ball to Good for the touchdown.

Then Archie Jones passed to Anthony Coluccio for the Brothers final touchdown tally, making the score 28-7.

The Brothers move on to face Corning-Painted Post, the Section 4 representative that is playing in the Eastern bracket as an at-large bid.  The game, to be the third and final of the Saturday slate at Middletown, will kick at 6pm.

However, the Capital Region will be without one representative in the State Semifinals, as the season came to an end for the Averill Park Warriors, falling to Somers 29-8.  Averill Park scored on their opening drive on Blake Kilgallon's 12 yard touchdown run, but Somers emerged out of the halftime break to put away the game for good.

IF YOU GO: Middletown High School is located in the City of Middletown, in Orange County.  Take the New York State Thruway southbound out of the Capital Region down to Exit 17, I-84 in Newburgh.   Take I-84 West after exiting towards Scranton, and follow until you get to Exit 19B, Route 17 West.  Take the first exit for Route 211 and then take a left after exiting.  Follow Route 211 until you get to Orange County Route 96 (you'll see a sign pointing you to the Fairgrounds and is the second traffic signal after Dunning Road - There's a Sonic Drive In just past the intersection).  Turn left and proceed for a half mile until you reach the High School on the right.
