If so, it would be the popular grocer's third location
In a request submitted to the Bethlehem's Development Planning Committee, the owner of Glenmont Plaza on Route 9W is apparently looking to tear down part of the shopping center and rebuild for a new 'small' grocery store.
The Times Union reports that the south end of the building, which currently houses Dollar Tree and Five Below, would be demolished. The new structure would be a 14,000 square foot shopping space. Trader Joe's are usually between 10,000 and 15,000 square feet. In addition, another building adjacent to the plaza will also be razed to become a parking lot for the new store.
Trader Joe's has two stores in the Capital Region, Wolf Road in Colonie and Route 9 in Halfmoon.
No official comment from the building owners or from Trader Joe's as of yet.
