The Nobel Peace Prize winner devoted his post-presidential years to championing charitable causes.

Former President Jimmy Carter, who redefined the post-presidency role, passed away at the age of 100. Carter, the longest-living U.S. president, was known for his peace efforts and philanthropic work. Despite challenges during his presidency, including the Iran hostage crisis, Carter's reputation grew through his work at the Carter Center and Habitat for Humanity. His legacy as a humanitarian and advocate for democracy will continue through the Carter Center.
