What was left behind?
What was once a bustling motel and restaurant has been completely razed to make room for a luxury car dealership. The Cocca's Inn & Suites on Route 7 in Latham closed in the mid 2010's. As it sat empty and in decay for several years, nature - with a little help from vandals and squatters - took its toll on the structure. A local fire department was even using it for training drills.
Cocca's had a number of locations throughout the Capital Region. This particular motel was located close to Albany International Airport, making it a convenient place to stay if traveling to the Albany area. At one point, it was the home of Otis & Oliver's - a restaurant now located at the nearby Mill Road Acres Golf Course.
The entire building was leveled in 2023, but local UrbExer (slang for Urban Explorer), Jake Towne was able to get a look inside before it came crumbling down.
